UAE plans a government rollout of Microsoft’s MDASH cyber tool
The Cyber Security Council, Microsoft and Core42 start with pilots and workshops. Core42’s sovereign cloud is the implementation path.
DUBAI — Microsoft, the UAE Cyber Security Council and Core42 said on 30 September they plan to deploy MDASH, Microsoft’s AI cybersecurity tool, across UAE government entities. The announcement is a plan and a phased start, not a completed switch-on.
MDASH uses models and automated analysis to find vulnerabilities, rank risks and report on security posture. The Council will support adoption through the National AI Test and Validation Lab. Core42, a G42 company, will onboard teams through its Sovereign Public Cloud, which it runs with Microsoft, and will connect the tool to its sovereign controls platform. Microsoft said it is also expanding MDASH to eligible customers in the UAE, and will give technical guidance to participating entities.
The first steps named in the release are awareness sessions, pilots, technical workshops and onboarding. Hayete Gallot, Microsoft’s executive vice president for security and emerging technologies, said the work is meant to strengthen resilience and readiness. Talal Al Kaissi of Core42 said the point of the local path is to keep security, privacy and operational control in the deployment.
A government team reading the release should ask three things before a pilot is treated as production. Which systems MDASH may scan. Where the findings are stored. Who signs a fix. 54east’s public-sector page is the matching note. https://54east.ai/public-sector/
