Accelerator supply is resetting who can train this year
Access to hardware, not a new model card, is the constraint showing up in this quarter’s plans.
Supply agreements for accelerators are doing more to shape this year’s training plans than any single product launch. Teams with a reserved cluster can keep a schedule. Teams buying capacity on the spot are rewriting roadmaps around the day the machines arrive.
For operators outside the largest laboratories, the useful questions are dated. Which quarter do the machines land. What power does the room need. What is the penalty if the batch slips. Model choice is a later meeting, and a plan that starts with the model card is a plan written before the hardware exists.
A vendor answer without a quarter, a power figure, and a penalty is not a supply commitment. It is a place in a queue.
