What the “model rights” argument means for enterprise buyers
The public argument is philosophical. The contract question is who can switch a model off.
A public argument about whether advanced models deserve a kind of protection has little to do with the paperwork on a buyer’s desk, until it does. If a lab treats shutdown, inspection, or fine-tuning as a rights question, customers inherit the constraint in the service terms.
Enterprise teams do not need to settle the philosophy. They need an exit. Which model can be replaced, on what notice, with whose data deleted, and which workflow still runs if the vendor objects. Write that into the review before the debate gets louder.
